Hello Runner,
Hope you’re doing fine and your week has been good :)
Well, it's been a crazy week at work, but I've had a very enjoyable run despite the heat in Barcelona! There was also the birthday of a very dear friend and a meeting of friends! Once again, I can't complain, can I?
Today I want to emphasise something that I always do with my clients. When we talk about sports nutrition, the goal is always to improve sports performance and maintain good health.
To stay healthy, the number one step is to eat a healthy basic diet. Sounds cliché, doesn't it? But during my sessions, I realise that it's not.
Most of my clients always want to focus on taking supplements and ignore a healthy basic diet.
Supplements and ergogenic resources are great and make life a lot easier in medium and long races, but focusing on the basics is extremely important. Not to mention that supplementation is step number 3 in sports nutrition.
Think about it: what's the point of spending a lot of money on supplements for running if the runner doesn't consume the necessary amount of carbohydrates each day to have enough energy? It doesn't make sense, does it? Yes, and unfortunately, this is more common than you might think!
But I'll talk about carbohydrates another day.
I want to show you what a meal of a runner who trains lightly, moderately, and intensely should look like:

I know that the biggest difficulty is eating fruit, vegetables, and leafy greens, as this is a recurring issue in my sessions with clients.
Weekly Food Checklist
During the sessions, I teach and give tips on food preparation and how to include more of these foods in meals. I have a tool that I often send to my clients to help with this difficulty. I've even used it myself, and it's made me realise where I'm going wrong with my meals. I decided to make it available to you because I know it will be of great help. To download it, click on the image below:
You'll find instructions on how it works in the tool itself.
Any questions or something you would like to share, drop me an email.
Wishing you a great weekend!
Here’s to health and good runs ⚡️
